  • Among the AAUP's many resources, here is one I especially recommend: a statement on the intellectual property rights of faculty. It points out that although some colleges and universities are claiming to own rights for teaching notes, computer programs, and similar works that faculty produce for their teaching, in fact such works belong to the faculty who produced them, with the protections of copyright law (against unauthorized reproduction or sale, for example)--even without obtaining a registered copyright. http://www.aaup.org/publications/Academe/1998/98mj/GORMNart.HTM

Professional Psychological Organizations are primarily oriented toward trained psychologists. Many of them have resources for students and the public, as well. Browse some of these organizations!
